Athletic, confident, and with a pedigree to be a winner. I ran barrels on both sire and dam, and they got their start taking care of cattle, so this guy is truly one that could be an all-around horse. So friendly and great to be around, but with his confidence he’s also got what I’d call a big ego, so he definitely needs a rider that is going to be firm with him. Pasture raised, currently in the barn, he’s happy in either situation. He had about 15 rides between the round pen and arena, and has been on a break for a few weeks. We’re getting back on him and will get videos when we get a chance. Pictures are current. He has a scar on his right knee, it was looked at by my vet when he cut it and said it would just leave a cosmetic scar. Also has some scarring on the inside of the left leg. Neither of these has had any effect on him as we’ve gotten him going under saddle. He just likes to play hard and it shows.
•Current on deworming, and coggins, feet due to be trimmed this week
•Paid into Future Fortunes and eligible to run at Colorado Classic and VGBRA
•Currently stands a little over 15 hands at the wither and little over 15.1 hands at the hip.
His sire, Vitalio (LTE $34,000+) is a proven barrel horse that has pro rodeo earnings, and is a 5x CePRA and 4x KPRA finals qualifier. From limited foal crops, he’s siring winners in the barrel pen, that are also capable of being all-around horses.
His dam, Miss Woody Bug, is a mare that I had success on locally in the barrel pen, she just never got the chance to go to more because I wasn’t ready for that at the time. She’s had two foals by Famous Bugs make it to the barrel pen with Equistat earnings of $103,000 from futurity, derby, pro rodeos, etc., including qualifications to The American and the Patriot. We’ve only been able to get a few more foals out of Bug, so those are her only performers.
